Tom and Claire party at Bath Race Course

Following on form the great portrait sesion at Babington House (www.babingtonhouse.co.uk ) Tom and Claire changed back into their wedding outfits for a big party at Bath Race Course (www.bath-racecourse.co.uk ) where all their friends from the wedding day on Thursday plus a lot more celebrated their wedding with 'winter wonsderland' theme.  The event was managed by the wonderful Hannah at Bath Race Course.

The very theatrical make up was done by Claire's friend and bridesmaid, Camila ( camilla_k_r@hotmail.com ) who is a professional film, TV and wedding make up artist.  As well as displaying 6 fully framed photos taken by neil and Karen on the thursday Ross and Amelia from Firebird Films showed a 10 minute film from the wedding day ( www.firebird-films.com )

After their wonderful wedding on 22nd october, Claire and Tom spent a couple of nights at the suptuous Babington House ( www.babingtonhouse.co.uk  ) where we took some wonderful portraits prior to their big wedding party back in Bath.
Even though evening was setting in we managed to capture some great moods in the grounds of babington and inside the house as well.

PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR 2009

Neil was over the moon yesterday to named UK Travel Photographer of the Year by the Master Photographers Association, the only organisation in the UK for full time professional photographers.

The photograph, of a beach at Hikkaduwa in Sri Lanka was taken during a quiet moment late in the afternoon, whiclst Neil was in the country to photograph a 'Destination Wedding'.

'It is always a great honour to win such a coveted title and it was even more special as i originally took it as a photo for myself. To be recognised by other fantastic professional photographers makes it even more special' 
I now have something to live up to for next year to try and better this and being the MPA / Aceboni 3 from 1 weding photographer of the year 2009.

Philly and Peter at The Gherkin

Philly and Peter married on 3rd October at the wonderful Gherkin in the City of London www.searcys.co.uk.  A few images are shown here with many more elsewhere on the blog.

Although a dull day weather wise the wedding was very contemporary, matching the superb setting with Philly allowing me time to capture some amazing images around the City, from The Royal Exchange to delapidated buildings off Commercial Road to Leadenhall market.

The bride and groom were ferried around in a traditional white london cab whilst Ines Telling the videographer www.visavideo.co.uk and i went in a black cab.  Ines is great fun to work with and captures some wonderful footage of the day.

neil wins national award

Neil has today been notified that he has won the prestigious Master Photographers Association ( www.thempa.com ) 3 from 1 competition for the central part of the UK. Neil had to choose 3 images from one wedding, taken before, during and after the ceremony and chose the wedding of Louise and James Lamb at Brocket hall in February 2009 ( www.brocket-hall.co.uk ). the 3 winning images are shown below and more images can be seen on this blog.

Ronil and Ruvini at Micklefield Hall

a gloriously sunny day at Micklefield Hall ( www.micklefieldhall.co.uk ) for the wedding party of Ronil and Ruvini, arranged by the wonderful girls at Tania Tapel ltd  ( www.tania-tapel.com ). A perfect location for stunning photographs and a relaxed atmosphere for a more informal drinks reception.

Asian wedding in London

neil photographed a glorious week of ceremonies and celebrations of the wedding between Tanya Jamal and Al-Karim Govindji this last week, some of the photos from these celebrations can be viewed in the galleries section of the blog to the left of this column.

Tanya's outfits were simply stunning and Al-Karim looked very debonair. The celebrations culminated on Saturday with a religious ceremony at the Ismaili Centre in West London with the party at the SAS Radisson Hotel in Portman Square www.RadissonSAS.com

sri lankan wedding

neil has recently photographed his first wedding in the Indian Sub Continent, in Sri Lanka. The wedding took place at the Taj Exotica hotel in Bentota  www.tajhotels.com with a traditional 'homecoming' ceremony in the bride's family's home town of Hikkaduwa.  It was a fantastic experience with wonderful colours and very welcoming people.

wedding of liya and alex in kensington

Liya and Alex were married on 7th March at Chelsea Registry Office, followed by lunch at the Min Yiang restaurant at The Royal Garden Hotel ( www.royalgardenhotel.co.uk )on Kensington High Street and afternoon tea at the Orangery in Kensington Palace Gardens. Liya was stunning in each of her designer dresses, for the civil ceremony and accessorised with shoes by Kurt Gieger ( www.kurtgeiger.com ) and a traditional Chinese jacket for the Tea Ceremony.

wedding at Brocket Hall

Louise and James were married on a beautiful sunny Spring day at Brocket Hall in Hertfordshire ( www.brocket-hall.co.uk ) .  The wedding photographs were gorgeous with Louise looking stunning and elegant in her wedding dress and James dashing in his wedding suit.
